Note on a Question of Reinhold Baer on Pregroups Ii
Reinhold Baer asked the relationship between certain properties in a nonempty set P with a partial operation (called an “add" by Baer [1]). The first paper in our sequence [Paper I] answered his question for a special type of an add called a pregroup by Stallings [12]. This paper [Paper II] answers an analogous question for a wider class of adds.
متن کاملMath REU Apprentice Program Alternate Proof of the Spectral Theorem
This paper is a proof of the Spectral Theorem; a theorem that was proven in the apprentice class but not in this manner. Because the Spectral Theorem is such a fundamental theorem in linear algebra, it is important to explore it further through an alternate proof.
متن کاملA Proof of the Barsotti-Chevalley Theorem on Algebraic Groups
A fundamental theorem of Barsotti and Chevalley states that every smooth connected algebraic group over a perfect field is an extension of an abelian variety by a smooth affine algebraic group. In 1956 Rosenlicht gave a short proof of the theorem. We explain his proof in the language of modern algebraic geometry.
متن کاملCLASSIFYING FUZZY SUBGROUPS OF FINITE NONABELIAN GROUPS
In this paper a rst step in classifying the fuzzy subgroups of a nite nonabelian group is made. We develop a general method to count the number of distinct fuzzy subgroups of such groups. Explicit formulas are obtained in the particular case of dihedral groups.
